I feel like a grieving widow. Not only did I lose my therapist but he was my confidant and my best friend…I feel so crushed. I am so sad.
Thank you for any advice.

I’m in the same place, I lost mine this morning after almost 4 years. I knew for about three months that I was being discharged, but it’s still hard. I told her things I had never told anyone before in my life.
You are literally going through a grief process, no different from losing a relative or good friend.
It’s simply a fact of life that people come and go, everybody has their own separate paths to follow. It’s simply something that one has to accept.
There’s only one thing that’s going to help you get over your grief – time. Hopefully it won’t take long for the sadness to leave, and you will be able to have those pleasant memories to keep all your life.
I really can’t give you any advice on how to get over the sadness. There’s just no “method” that is guaranteed to work. There are five stages to grief; you might be able to Google them. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
