What are some good convo starters?

I really like this guy and we talked on the phone for like an hour last night, but there were a lot of ackward silences. Anybody have any convo starters? I know he likes me and we are just friends right now…but he just went through a break up. Any tips?

just be casual. talk to him and be yourself. I would suggest asking random questions and getting to know him(even if you think u already know him)
I usually start with hi. But this is the phone, not online, so..
Something like a random question. Just really, the first thing you can think of. It helps you to get to know him, too.
If he’s just broke up then he maybe venerable, so take it easy and slow. Just find a conversation that you both feel happy with and take it from there. Good luck, just don’t go buying a wedding dress just yet!
its good to freestyle phone convos but its cool to always hav somethin planned to talk about. and u dont have to be on the phone for an hour all the time. sometimes the convos can be lik 10-15 mins, short and sweet
Try to comfort him about the break up, if you think he is still sad.
I want your beef in my taco. Gimme your sour cream and we can drop the chalupa.

well, ask him how’s he doing/what’s he been up to for starters… then ask him random questions that like “How can you logically trip over the same object 3 times in like 6 seconds?”or “Do you freeze any juice in the freezer and have your own homemade slushy?” or even more random than that… then ask him about some of his favorite stuff and compare.. try to find common ground that is able to come up in almost all of your phone convos… if you’re watching tv, you can say random things about the show that’s on.. hope that helps =)
