Advice on ended long term relationship?
Dated for over 5 years and broke up a few months back due to various complications. Just passed the stage of seeing if the relationship could be salvaged, which it cannot, and looking for some suggestions. Situation consists of the fact we dated for so long, and being 22, we have the same circle of friends which poses some issues. I don’t want to act like a five year old and play the ignore game in public which will make me have to stay away from my own friends, but also just want to get on with my life. Just want to hear some ideas how to meet new people, but not the usual join a gym/online ideas. Thanks!

Honesty is the best policy. If you lie about why you are breaking up, he will find out, and it will hurt him more. Just say “We had a good run, but I don’t know if it is going to work out.” If you can see if you both can remain friends that way it does not get as awkward. Good Luck.
