What does it mean when you have a dream about your ex boyfriend?

The other night I had a dream about my ex boyfriend wanting to spend time with me right after i got out of swim practice. We then later met up a baseball field and he confessed he still liked me. When i asked about his girlfriend he responded that he left her for me. Im so confused on what this dream means, please help!

It doesn’t mean anything other than you were in REM sleep.
Dreams are irrelevant. They don’t have any deeper meaning.
You still have feelings about him or think about him.
I used to dream about my ex girlfriend just after she broke up with me. It was horrible! After about 4 – 5 days of dreaming they dissapeared.
Don’t worry it’s just because you still have feelings for him somewhere inside, it’ll pass.
Dreams are interesting. Something or nothing can trigger them. Maybe you miss him? And if you don’t, then you probably remembered him or the good times you two had when you were dreaming. Sometimes when you think in your sleep (which isn’t always your intention) you actually dream about it. I have a friend whose going through this phase after her break up. I hope I helped answer your question.
I think it means that you secretly would love the scenario in your dream to happen in real life and you want your ex bf to care for you more than this new girl. If you continue to dream about him it probably signifies the emotional attachment and repressed feelings you still have to him.
Another theory (kind of hippy) is that people carry cords meaning strong emotional attachments. Therefore if someone (like an ex) is emotionally and strongly still attached to you then they can bring your energy down or in this instance make you dream about them. I’m not sure if i believe in that theory although I would like to.
I also have dreams about someone i used to date. At first they were horrible and soon i stopped dreaming (or remembering my dreams) all together. Now (months later) my dreams have returned, and though not as horribe, he has also returned to most of them. Just last night I dreamnt that he still had feelings for me and was tempted to leave his gf for me….sound familiar? I think we often have repressed thoughts about people and things without even realising it because we tell ourselves nothing extists. I think some people need to settle things with ex’s in order to move on completely.
Additionally i have friends that have similiar dreams so it’s probably common. When you stop thinking about your ex bf, the dreams will stop.
