Why stay in a relationship if you’re just going to cheat?

Why do both men and women stay in the relationship, if they’re just going to cheat regardless? Why not be single?
I’m talking about actually making the effort to BE in the relationship, while also cheating? Like if you break up with them, they go out of their way to get you back and to change your mind, or else they never leave you alone.

That’s called swingers.
alot of people do it and it does’nt bother them, everyone is different.
i think it’s weird too.
but if they don’t mind let them be..
A lot of times people are cowards, and don’t have the heart to break up.

My ex boyfriend is the first person I’ve ever felt ‘love’ with. But he cheated on me over4 times and I knew it but I loved him so much I didn’t care.
Because they are not faithful people that’s way! and stupid in a way….
One of my friends is like that and I’ve been trying really hard to get her to dump the guy! It’s like, he cheated on her and now she’s cheating on him to get back at him. What in the world is up with that?! I’m just as confused as you are, but I think it might be because the two people are obsessed with each other. Like, it’s not love, they just have themselves convinced it is.
because they haven’t grown up and they have major character flaws like when it comes to trust, honesty and loyalty.
I don’t know.
I guess it’s the whole “have your cake and eat it to” thing.
I think that the relationship is there because he/she doesn’t want to be alone between the hook-ups.
Maybe a cheater will answer but they’ll never tell you why. It’ll be because they “got bored” probably.
You are all mixed up and showing signs of smuttiness, very dangerous business. You are messing with people’s emotions. If you don’t want to mess with their emotions and just want to do it for the sake of doing it, just tell the guy and move on like the little ham you are.
Cheating is not ok but some people do it even if they really do love and care about the person they’re with. maybe the risk and adrenalin of it is appealing they like the challenge and as soon as they do it once without getting caught they’ll do it again or they have sexual desires separate from real emotion. They obviously need to learn the consequence of their ways grow up and learn that you need to be caring rather than greedy if they want to keep someone’s love.
They’re insecure.
Cheating sucks. I think people cheat mostly because they are greedy and selfish.
As for the first poster who said it is “swingers”… No. Swingers are not cheater (they can be , but it is less apt to happen) Swingers are couples who have other sex partners with approval of the partner. It is not anything like cheating.. Cheating = To deceive by trickery , To mislead; fool, To act dishonestly; practice fraud, To violate rules deliberately.
When somebody cheats in a relationship it hurts all involved.
