Yes, humans like to feel needed. No, they don't want to feel as though you might collapse into a boneless snivelling heap if they're not around. "A woman who knows what she likes and makes every effort to get it is very attractive," says Kerner. "In fact, when a woman like that needs someone it makes them feel all the more valuable – because it's as though she needs them specifically, rather than just any old person."
I’m so confused. I’ve been dating a guy once a week for about 3 weeks. He usually texts all throughout the day, happy things, stuff that upsets him about his job, asks me how my day is, etc. Initiation is probably about 60/40 me, or relatively equal. When we go out, it’s amazing. Like I’ve found some one who really really gets me. And he’s said the same. He says things like, “your gorgeous”, “you’re wonderful,” ” I want to see you many more times”, etc. I was vey happy with the way things were progressing. He’s a very introverted person, who suffers from depression and migraines, so I know he has “off” days. I try to give him space, and was really excited when he invited me over to his house to watch a movie. A lot of our texting had become pretty sexual at this point, so I was pretty sure that would happen. And it did. Once at night, and again in the AM. We chatted a bit and then I hit the road. When I said goodbye he flashed me a really weird look, but I tried to ignore my gut. After all, we’d had sex like 10 minutes earlier, and after we did, he took me out back to show me the boat he’s building, his pride and joy. Later that day (5 hrs later?) I texted him a funny reference to the movie we watched the previous night, and got no response. So around 930 that night, maybe 12 hours after I last say him, I texted to say “I’ve noticed you haven’t been responding like you usually do, is everything ok?” Thinking maybe he had a migraine, or was depressed and might want to talk about it (as he has done before). It’s now been 24 hours since I sent that text, and there’s been dead silence on his end. I don’t understand. I’m not going to text him, at least for a week, to make sure I’m not bothering him. But I’m a mess. I’m really worried that I did something wrong, or worse, that I was used for sex. Which really would be surprising, since he was really emotionally vulnerable with me prior to that night/ morning. Even after we first had sex. It’s as if something went wrong in the 15 mins between getting out of bed and into my car. Do I just give up and move on? It seems like either 1) he’s dead 2) his phone is broken, (clearly both are highly unlikely) or 3) he was really good at pretending to be vulnerable and open, with the end goal of having sex and kicking me to the curb. I totally feel used, and that is a terrible feeling. The fact he ignored me when I was checking in (in a lighthearted manner) to make sure he was ok is sooooo not “his normal”…but it’s currently his reality apparently.
Sigh. It’s not. You don’t have to spend any money to get a boyfriend – you can weave yourself a new hairband if you like. It’s just a way of subtly altering how you feel about yourself. You might find that an easy way to boost your confidence is to accentuate your favourite physical traits, perhaps in a new, slightly daring way, but one that’s true to your own style. But if you get the same kick from spending time with an affirming friend, or going travelling – then do it. Go with your gut and let it lead you to self-satisfied sexiness. This is how to get a boyfriend 101: simple stuff, but it actually works.
Reading as she navigates her way through this minefield, as well as finally realizing that being smart is as much a part of her as anything, is fun and cringeworthy in a very good way. The chemistry between Laura and Adam, coupled with her re-evaluation of her broken relationship with her dad, make this a great book for teens. Those who wrestle with the smart vs popular dilemma, who have parent estrangement issues and those who experienced high school social disasters will particularly enjoy this book. It's a great one for any high school or public library.
So there’s this guy that I have been texting and hanging out with for almost a year. He used to text me almost right away or at least in the same day if I text early enough. Lately I have to initiate the conversation and I tell him that I don’t like doing that but all he’s done is apoligize and says that he will try to text often but he’s busy with school and work, which I understand since I’m busy too. I’ll text him and if he doesn’t respond within 2 days I won’t text him at all and usually it’s like 2-3 weeks before he starts feeling bad about not texting. Usually at 1 1/2 weeks I’ll text just to make sure he’s okay and still alive and he’ll respond to that but won’t say anything else. I’m starting to get super fed up. I’m wondering how I just completely sever ties with him at this point.
* Women who know what they want are most attractive. Nothing turns a rich man on like a strong woman who is successful in her career or business. The woman who goes for glory piques the most interest. Rich men constantly search for those who they can find their equal or superior. She doesn’t have to be rich. Instead, she can be superbly talented in something that he is not e.g. musical instrument, language, singing, dance, art, etc.

My parents discourage our relationship because they think we are not compatible financially. They prefer me to get married to a man who is more financially independent. There are doctors going after me. My friends and colleagues also think that I should find a guy who has the same financial status and social status as me. Many people believe that there will be high chances of divorce if the wife can earn more than the husband due the ego of the men.

Please understand that it doesn’t take a rich man/woman to be rich, happy, and content. What it takes is loyalty, honesty, trust, most of all communication and the willingness to compromise.Someone who you can share your deepest secrets without fear of how it may seems or sound because he/she truly understands everything and anything about you . Knowing that you have someone who will piss you off before you go to bed but wake you up happy just because he/she are next to you .
There’s this guy we met in summer school and had a thing but fell out , now he hit me up again and we’ve been talking for 1 year and 5 months but he hasn’t came to see me even once. Everytime I ask him he says he does like me he’s just been really busy with school and work and hasn’t the free time but makes promises to make the time soon, idk what to do if I should continue waiting or give up cuz it’s been so long, now it feels like we talk even less he replies once a day if I get lucky and I asked him if he’d just like me to leave I have no problem with it but he insists he’s just mad busy idk what to do plz help
What each of these examples does is a) lets him know you’re thinking about him and b) give him something to respond to. The entire point of texting is to engage in conversation, so keep your goal in mind. Are you looking to make plans with him for tonight? Just catch up on your day? Have a more heartfelt conversation? Keep that goal in mind when you initiate a conversation.
@ryan….thanks for sharing…gave a huge insight on how an ideal man would think. Its a standard the man has set for himself. and i think it gives security to the woman knowing that her man believes in himself enough to achieve. Most men give up when things get tough. I love how men want to ‘light up the world’ of the woman they are with…..its the greatest gift you guys can give to us. And if some abuse it – it doesnt make it any less valueable.

Run into him "by accident." Make him feel like your connection is kismet. It is no secret that men enjoy the thrill of the chase, so instead of making it obvious that you are pursuing him, find ways to bump into him "by chance." For instance, if you know he likes to spend his weekday afternoons studying at the local coffee shop, consider stopping by there yourself. When you see him, feign genuine surprise and see if you can strike up a conversation.

Hi Eric, I’m in no relationship right now. I’m on a dating site and matched well with a as we messaged, he stated, we have a lot in common. He asked to start texting so we did. In two weeks we sent pic’s of ourselves and had phone sex twice. He keeps saying we need to meet, when we set a day and time he was getting sick. Fine, I believe him. You suggested a sexy pic. Good idea. It’s fun, but is there a way to ask him if he still wants to get to know me? And, What is the standard of getting to know one another if the dating sites are where I’m meeting guys. I understand he and other guys are tired from work and are busy on days off and talking to other women on the site. Thank you for your time, Kim

You can't expect to get it right first time, so going on dates is a good way to test people out. Most of us go through our share of dull hotties, exciting weirdos, nasty charmers and kind ogres in the quest for true romance. Either that or it's a long barren spell. Experimenting with different types of people is good, even if only to make us realise what we don't want.
I don’t know how I didn’t read your columns before lol.. I think you are the love guru and I am reading your articles now for the first time coz I am going through a break-up myself at the moment. I had this problem: I didn’t know what else to do this guy to text me back. To my dismay I have broken up with this guy but by reading your article made me see clearly some of my own mistakes and I do want to thank you for your advice. It has helped me a lot today. Cheers from OZ.
Guys who are actually interested will make time for you. Everyone’s busy AF, but if a guy actually cares, he’ll do whatever it takes to be in your life. That means he won’t leave you hanging on a text. He’ll text back because he actually wants to talk to you. Seeing your name light up his phone will make him happy, not annoyed, and he’ll be more than happy to shoot over a few words to keep the conversation going.
b.) Do not starve yourself but for the love of God, Don’t let yourself go! Do whatever you can to always look your best! (When you’ve been married for as long as I have many women I know loose interest in simple things like pedicures and shaving their legs! (Don’t be that girl!). Trust me if you leave to say w/family overnight he will still miss your legs in bed that night if they are soft! So keep it up! No man wants a woman who’s allowed an extra 50 lbs to appear and then does zero about it (children or not!). I have 2 stepchildren and none of my own by choice! I adore my husbands children (now adults but I never had to let my body go straight to hell to have them myself & thanks to God we are very close! I never had to be concerned weather my husband who’s always been VERY popular with women of a certain age and those newly divorced. However, he only has eyes for me and he makes that abuntly clear as I do for him. I’m not a jealous woman nor is he a very jealous man. We trust and in our case yes of course together we have more money than if we split but money won’t keep you warm at night girls but a man with passion for his work and more for you certainly will.
Between your man's navel and his nether region lies a strip of hair known as the "treasure trail," so named because of its sensitivity (not to mention the fact that it leads right where he's dying for you to go). Want to show him just how prize-worthy this trail really is? Starting right below his navel, take some strands of hair between your lips and pull – just hard enough that he can feel it, but gently enough that he's not jumping out of his skin. The pinpricks of slight pain you'll create will send jolts of electricity throughout his lower abdominal region, and even register below the belt.
The book mostly focus on Nora's struggle in keeping up with her social life, her swaps, her relationship with her family and her best friend, and her position in Adam's life. Romance, while is the driving force of the story, is basically a decent part of it although not exactly overtaking Nora's struggle. There is, of course, enough time to develop Nora and make her realize several things which is being yourself.

* I hope she still loves me if I had no money. Rich men understand they are attracting more women than normal for their wealth, but every rich man hopes his woman loves him for who he is as a person. Rich men don’t want to feel like chumps who have to pay for companionship. As soon as a rich man feels the only reason why a woman is asking a man out so he can pay for dinner and a show, it’s game over.
Obviously, I’m not saying all men are this way, but I think for the most part, unless a man is born with more nurturing qualities and prefer to change diapers, cook and clean as a full time job, I’d bet guys generally don’t know much about that stuff (or would to do it to the standard a woman would prefer) and therefore prefers the woman to do most of that “stuff”.
Men are simple creatures. In fact, men are so simple that it often becomes complex if you try too hard to “figure them out.” It becomes even more difficult, when you’re hoping for a certain outcome in what you want from your man. When attempting to get something from him, whether it’s more assistance around the house, taking you out more, or buying you the new bag you’ve been eyeing, you have to remember to be..well simple.
Now this man, he will get unreal pressure to, quite simply, “Unload the idiot w/lipstick”. Sorry but that’s you! So remember to date those that your physically attracted to, have your own money, always look amazing and don’t date a rocket scientist if you didn’t pass one math class in High School! Date those who challenge you not totally stump you!
Dear E. Jean: Are guys worth the effort? I'm 22 and having a hard time because (a) I am really sweet and conservative, don't go out looking like a slut, and never act like I want to hook up with as many people as possible; and (b) guys are mostly into getting laid, drinking, partying with their buddies, and doing it all over again the next weekend (with a different girl).

What it means is that the more money you make the more you are taxed. The more the government finds ways to take it away from you. In order to live legally, you must pay this embezzlement from the US government. and there is a certain point where your income is the same as someone making 1/2 the amount as you and being taxed less. Which really isn’t fair!! But even through this embezzlement, you can still make and save a million if you are committed to it. There comes a curtain point where you can surpass this 1/2 point and begin to gain, again once you actually can save past it. but it is a tough plateau. Once you save past the plateau it gets easier to save.

As a sophomore on the varsity cheer squad who has the attention of dumb-as-rocks (but hot) footballer Jake Londgren, Nora Fulbright has morphed socially from “larval state—practically a worm” into a fully formed butterfly. In order to up her PQ, or popularity quotient, brainy Nora switches out of her AP courses and joins the masses. But when Adam—cute, crazy smart, and gives Nora the good kind of shivers—moves to town, how can she get him to see that she is not just a ditzy cheerleader? And that she is not interested in Jake? In Valentine’s sassy debut, readers will groan as Nora messes everything up, and may grow frustrated with her choices (“For a smart girl you’ve had a pretty solid run of stupid”), but if they relate to her plight, they will find her funny, too. Grades 7-12. --Ann Kelley
This implies that if they went through a hard time financially, she’d be able to leave him with no guilt or remorse, but even if her beauty faded significantly after a given age, or any particular trait of hers that he loved her for decreased, he’d have no legitimate reason to leave, since those things could be considered “superficial” reasons to love someone, and that would work both ways.
Realize differences in communication. Men can often miss the subtle messages that people send in their body language. Don't judge a guy because of this; it's just the way men are. Subtle body language like smiles only make a man think that you might like him; he can't assume it means you're interested without being accused of being a self-absorbed jerk. To drive the point home, gradually introduce more "obvious" body language like playful touches on the arm, playful banter and teasing, winks, inside jokes, playfulness, or (when you know him better) attempts to find a man's ticklish spots. (Don't be afraid to kindly tease him over minor things - people who pretend a man is perfect are regarded as weak in their eyes.) Flirting will not only show him you like him enough to get that physical and playful, but also help to break the physical barrier and allow a man to feel more comfortable making a few advances to you. But don't forget to look at how he is reacting to you.
When these types of thoughts overwhelm you, it's important to remember that this is a symptom of your depression and these irrational, pessimistic attitudes-known as cognitive distortions-aren't realistic. When you really examine them they don't hold up. But even so, they can be tough to give up. You can't break out of this pessimistic mind frame by telling yourself to "just think positive." Often, it's part of a lifelong pattern of thinking that's become so automatic you're not even completely aware of it. Rather, the trick is to identify the type of negative thoughts that are fueling your depression, and replace them with a more balanced way of thinking.
So you figure you've explored every inch of his mouth with yours? Truth is, the one area that's often ignored is the roof of his mouth, which is one of the most ticklish parts of the body, says Hess. So the next time you're lip-to-lip, flick your tongue once or twice in an arc along this area (any more might send him into a fit of giggles). Katrina, 33, has found that this move works wonders on her husband. "When people kiss, they always go for the tongue," she says. "But the first time I ran my tongue along the roof of my husband's mouth, he was like, 'Whoa!' Now I know that if I ever want get a rise out of him, that's what I need to do."

Anyways, good advice for single women. I think there comes a point in most of our lives where a successful man becomes more attractive to us than a pretty man. Maybe this happens at about 25. I’m attending the wedding this weekend of a friend who is marrying a very successful guy and he is totally smitten by her – she is gorgeous, a fantastic surfer (better than him), a great cook and has a good legal career of her own.

Would that getting his attention long enough to pursue her attraction be so simple—Not. Laura makes mistake after mistake in her attempts to connect with him. After switching out of her AP classes to help cement her popularity quest, she discovers that Adam is probably her equal in the brains department, so she initiates a series of well-intentioned, but disastrous swaps with other kids in an effort to get in the same classes and work on some projects with him, all the while trying to keep Jake far enough away so she doesn't have to go to the prom with him.
